Sept.5th & it was departure day.We didn't get started until 1pm which was much later than we had hoped for. This meant we made it to Maytown Rest Stop instead of our favourite at Santium.

Maytown you might recall, was where we spent the night on the other trip when we ran over the living room club chair, on the #5 in Seattle. Oh & by the way you might want to ask CW why he likes to show off his plumbing....

Our first RV park was Sea & Sand in Depoe Bay Oregon. We like this place although since 2003 they have added more sites make each one a bit smaller. The beach

from the park is awesome for walking.

Next stop was a KOA in North Bend Oregon. This one was a bit of a departure for us as it is geared for the Dune Buggy Crowd. You can ride from the camp into the dunes. Although a bit dusty, the people were were terrific with keeping the speed & noise down in the park.

It was Friday night & the WINE WALK was on in downtown Coos Bay. You buy an empty wine glass, get a map of downtown & stop in at the various merchants where you get some wine & appies! Nothing like drinking wine & eating cheese in an appliance store. The antique shop was fun & CW found a record while I did the eating & drinking.

Our first Dune Buggy ride was a blast! Now I get it.

We toured the area's coast & stopped for some clam chowder in Charleston. As we were leaving I found the oyster shell piles I got my original shells from 15 years ago. Naturally CW stopped & I picked some more. The piles have to be 50 ft. high.

Crescent City Redwoods RV Park was lovely. Camping under the big redwoods was so peaceful. Watching the bats at dusk was pretty entertaining too. We could have spent more time but it was time to see Elk at Prairie Redwood Park while driving on the Drury Parkway. No Elk when we went thru, darn. We also drove the Samuel Boardman Route & saw the Arches in the ocean.

Today the 12th we arrived at Riverwalk RV Park in Fortuna. We will spend 5 days here & use it as a base to view the Humboldt County California Redwoods. Oh by the way I forgot to mention we saw Paul & Babe yesterday. You remember them?
