The Harvest Moon ala iPhone

Just as we were getting ready to leave Denver, we received two orders, so we decided to pack them really quickly before we left. BIG MISTAKE!!! Some child psychologists in Denver aching to have the national attention of an earth-shattering theory decided that teenagers can’t go to school at 8 am – it is too early for them and they need to sleep longer. So, to make a long story short, 1500 teenagers are pulling out of the school parking lot at the same time thousands of workers are leaving their jobs at 4:30 and 5 pm. We had to wait through 10 traffic lights to get through the light at 120th and Highway 85 north of Denver. No exaggeration – it was 10 cycles of the traffic light and 45 minutes! I don’t have a degree in child psychology, but my theory is that these kids need to be home at 3 pm so they don’t get killed from the carbon monoxide of a Denver metro rush hour traffic jam – it was probably worse than smoking a pack of cigarettes on the way home from school.

Soon after you are welcomed into Nebraska off of I-76, you arrive at Ogallala, Nebraska that has the FINEST gas station bathroom in the US of A. The toilets in the ladies restroom at Sapp Brothers at the first exit in Ogallala has a toilet with a seat warmer, a bidette, a blow dryer, a fanny massager and more!!! There were so many gadgets there, I am almost afraid to flush for fear of getting electrocuted. We stop here every time we come to Ogallala, it is one of the 7 wonders of the prairie (right up there with the world’s record for most bugs on your windshield, Runzas, and this Nebraska Junk Jaunt).

Speaking of Runzas, that is what we had for supper – YUMMY! We had Runza’s with swiss cheese and mushrooms – they were to die for. In order to beta-test our milk shake holders, we ordered chocolate milkshake chasers.

The big orange harvest moon was coming up as we entered the state and it was beautiful for about 5 minutes. You’ll have to take my word that it was HUGE, because the picture from my phone looks like an orange jelly bean. Guess you had to be there.

Well tomorrow is the early bird sale so we have to be moving at 6 am. See you tomorrow – same time, same channel.
