As part of our six weeks in SE Asia, we're starting off by visiting our old friend, Chris Stanley, who used to run a resort on Koh Chang but now lives in the wild west part of North West Thailand. We took the night train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, and hired a bike on our arrival in Chiang Mai. Today, we are going for full Christmas dinner with Chris's friends, Steve & Stephanie who have an amazing house they've just completed building in Om Koi. We've brought two M&S Christmas puddings and some mince pies plus Birds Custard, so we won't feel too homesick!

The weather is beautifully warm although temperatures drop at night. Yesterday, we climbed a mountain - a six hour trek in full heat up the 2,000 metre Mon Jong near Om Koi. Phew-ee but well worth the fantastic views.

Very Happy Christmas to all our friends and family. We'll be drinking a glass or two of Leo beer to your good health!
