Our campsite C-75

What a year 2020 is turning out to be. In March we hurried home to quarantine away from the world to try and avoid contacting COVID-19. For the first two weeks it was just Glenna and I tucked away in our home. We started using Zoom to communicate with friends, and used Instacart to order our groceries and have them delivered to our front door.

I started back to work after the quarantine was over. I basically interacted with my two brothers, and a few neighbours. When we couldn’t keep a safe social distance we would wear a mask. Masks have become the standard for most people since this whole thing started. Eventually by mid-summer we were able to meet in family bubbles. This really helped reduce the isolation. Our kids and grandkids were able to join us and enjoy lots of pool time.

Finally in late June we did our first camping trip. We enjoyed three days at the Barrie KOA with our friends Jan and Bryce. We kept our social distance, but enjoyed happy hours, meals and campfires.

After another two months of farming, and many great pool gatherings, we planned another camping outing at Barrie KOA. This time our friends Bob and Charlotte were supposed to join us with their new rig as well as Bryce and Jan. This park has a great adult section with big pull through sites complete with patio furniture and Napoleon barbecues. It is also a central location for the three of us to meet. Unfortunately Bob and Charlotte’s new rig isn’t quite ready, so they have had to cancel. We miss them this weekend, but we’ll do this again soon!

Tomorrow we are moving to the Owen Sound KOA to look after Rowan and Emma while Keegan and Diane get back to school for orientation and preparation for the new school year. Once the kids are back to school, they will be leaving our Covid bubble. We are very concerned about our families health as school starts. Hopefully all things go well.
