Nous pensions maintenant remonter la côte. Mais, plusieurs personnes nous ont conseillé de passer par le parc national de la Chapada Diamantina. Nous sommes donc tout d'abord allés à Lençois une charmante petite ville au pied des montagnes. De là, nous avons trouvé un guide pour partir en trek durant 4 jours dans le parc national. Ce n'est plus comme en Argentine et au Chili où les chemins sont bien tracés dans les parcs, ici ils ne sont pas indiqués alors il est fortement conseillé de partir avec un guide. Feb 11, 2008 - Lencois 1

The next day (Feb. 6) we woke up early and took a bus (approximately 6 hr. drive) to Lencois with a group of people from Semester at Sea. The drive was incredible and the scenery breathtaking. When we arrived in Lencois, we walked around town and arrived at some natural pools named Serrano along the Lencois River. Everybody swam for a little bit and some of us took a short hike. Sep 2, 2005 - Lencois.... Mosquitoes and all!

Hi everyone, Thanks for all the e-mails I've been receiving. I love hearing what everyone is up to and makes me feel a lot closer to home even though I am miles away. RIght now I am suffering having been bitten 42 times by Mosquitoes. In this town, it appears they love me and it doesn't matter how much repellant I put on... they still find a spot to nibble away at... my legs are literally covered in bites! Lencois is on the border of the Brazillian National Park, Chapada Diamantina (named so because there is also diamond mining here)....
