Apr 27, 2010 - It was like leaving home all over again

I didn't want to get out of bed this morning, I wanted to savour the moment - a warm, comfy bed with those blue fluffy sheets. But I was hungry and my belly was grumbling, otherwise I could have stayed there all day. I enjoyed the last of my cinnamon bread and endless coffees. Cleaned the kitchen and showered as Aileen was nowhere to be seen. By the time I came back upstairs from showering and stripping the bed Aileen had returned from her friends house. Sadly her friend had to put her dog down last night. It was nice to spend our last day...

Apr 26, 2010 - Sent off our boxes

Mmmmm more cinnamon toast for breakfast with lots of margarine and of course coffee. I squashed the last of my winter clothes into the box, addressed it and we were off into town. We headed to the post office whilst Aileen went to the grocery store to fix up all the pays. We sent off our boxes, but I wasn't allowed to pick up my parcel as it was addressed to Aileen. We waited for her at the grocery store and picked up a few things she needed. She bought me Reese cups, which we shared. They are chocolate cups filled with peanut butter,...

Apr 25, 2010 - Winter is gone, I hope

It is going to be so hard to leave in a couple of days we are just so spoiled. With Stacey and Alf here, Aileen made a big breakfast of eggs Benedict, bacon, hollandaise sauce, muffins and hashbrowns and of course fresh coffee. Full, full, full. We had to sit and let all our breakfast settle for a while so we chatted and the boys went out to check on the cows, which by the way two calves were born during the night. With a few hours drive Stacey and Alf headed off with their cute puppy Foreman. We had more coffee and chocolate cake to help...

Apr 24, 2010 - I'm going to be fat

This morning for breakfast I tried out my new bread. Cinnamon scroll in bread form (yum). Aileen had rice krispies and I had to try them out to see if they were the same as rice bubbles, which they were. We had a lazy day of reading. Aileen made us a great lunch, meat paddies, salad and fries. I am enjoying all this food. In the afternoon her daughter Stacey and her husband came over. We headed down to the barn to see the new kittens, three weeks old and a day old with more due. Next we headed to Aileen and Randy's daughters place for...

Apr 23, 2010 - Spoiled, spoiled, spoiled

It was so nice to sleep in, shower and have breakfast and not be pushing around and apologising for being in someones way. I could have a coffee and just relax. Once we were ready we drove into town and everybody knows everybody so we met lots of people.  Aileen took us out for lunch with some of her brother, his wife, his sister in law and her husband. I had beef in black bean sauce, it was so good. After lunch she took us to the grocery store and bought us everything to cure all our cravings. Then to the bottle shop to try a variety of...

Apr 22, 2010 - Mmmm so warm

The funniest thing last night we were getting ready for bed and the girl in our room, whom we met at Kelowna, tells us about the weird lady in our room. Me being neat had all my stuff away and Bek had things on her bed, vital information. Anyway when the Kelowna girl came to the room the weird lady points to Bek's bed and says I know where one is sleeping, but I don't know where the other girl is sleeping. Did she think we were going to share a bed or something? Haha. We checked out excited today knowing we were meeting up with Aileen. Not...
