Jul 16, 2015 - Day 1 Joliet to Helena

Elaine and Pinky arrived on schedule late Tuesday. After a short nights sleep we had breakfast and began the task of final packing. We departed about noon and after a quick bite to eat en route at Wheat Montana in Three Forks we arrived at Diane's. After dinner with Diane and her family we got a little exercise by strolling downtown Helena. We spent the night at a quaint little motel in Montana City called Elkhorn Lodge. Today the ladies insist on making at stop at Walmart in Helena before resuming our journey. We should enter Canada by noon.

Sep 15, 2012 - Heading Home

We left Hyder with our sights set on getting home to Florida. We turned to the East and headed back to Jasper. After spending the night, we moved quickly down the Icefields Parkway and on through Banff. We crossed the border at Coutts, where we had entered Canada at the start of the journey. We got home to Florida 4 months after leaving on a very unique 17,000 mile journey.

Our route today: South from Okotoks on Provincial Route 2, then east on Provincial Route 3 and south on Provincial Route 4 to Coutts, Alberta. We kind of hated to leave Okotoks this morning. Aug 23, 2008 - Day 89 – Back to the USA…

Crossing the border… No Problem! Like butter! Ti-gui-dou! We made it back with only a few questions, a big smile and we were in the USA, but we had to take our shades off (sunglasses). Yep! You guessed it. As soon as we crossed the border, the clouds were rolling in. It hadn’t rained in Montana for a month. The winds were so strong that the camper was rocking. We are stopped and anchored in Great Falls. The maximum for tomorrow is forecasted 60 degrees, rain and windy. We’re going back to Canada… NOT! We’ll stay for few more entries in our...

Wimberley to Alaska!

Aug 22, 2006 - Day 11 - Into Canada

We took the car into the Subaru Dealership in Helena MT for routine maintenance, hard to believe we've put on 3000 miles since Dallas. The car checked out ok and the Woolseys fixed the alignment on the boat trailer. We didn't see a bear in Yellowstone, but we did at Head Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, just outside Fort McLeod. There were also donkeys, cattle, llamas, and of course buffalo. Head Smashed-In is one of several cliffs that natives drove buffalos over to kill them. Team A worked the highlands to stampede the buffalo over the cliff....
