Jul 18, 2018 - High Level

We are in a unique campground, Aspen Ridge. Real nice surroundings, mature trees. I am guessing the trees are Aspens! What makes this campground different is that there is a parking area for the big lumber trucks behind the campground. The only access to it is through the campground. 12 trucks leave in the morning & come back at night. You would think that it would be noisy and a bother. Not so, they 'idle' move very slow coming and going. Sure is different! Barb and Glenn said their goodbyes and left for RD. George & I went golfing after...

Jul 17, 2018 - Alberta

We left this morning around 10 am. Not a long drive today, about 275 kms. to High Level. We are staying at a different RV park this time. The drive was uneventful but lots of construction this time. Do to the small amount of traffic on the highways up here, we never had to wait more than a few minutes before the flag person waved us on. Crossed the border into Alberta. We stopped to take a few pictures and stretch our legs. Got to high level, refueled went to the RV Park and set up. A very nice park. Off to town to do some shopping....

Jun 26, 2018 - Final Day in High Level

After a night of Donnor und Blitz awoke to a sunny chilly morning. Arose had breakfast and over to the clubhouse at 7:30 or so. Waited for George, but I gather he was catching a bit more shut eye. We got on the course around 10 a.m. And still chilly. Long pants this a.m.. So George and I went out golfing while the others were relaxing etc. The golf game itself again was a total disaster for me, but George may be on the Senior PGA tour next year. We used the fishhook rule to improve some of our shots. Works most every time. It should be in...

Jun 25, 2018 - On to High Level

Another day of travel. We left Peace River at about 9:30 stopping to gas up the vehicles. The road was good, however..... nearing our destination of High Level the wind picked up considerably. We didn't know it at the time but there was a severe weather watch. We arrived it High Level, picked up some supplies at Canadian Tire and had a bite to eat a Tim Horton's. Then to a gas station to top up. Here is where things go south. I went into the station as my 'fob' didn't seem to work. So the attendent set things up first on one cash machine....

Jul 6, 2016 - Day 10 High Level

Day 10. High Level. Aspen Ridge Campground. Nice treed sites. Last night at Lions club campground in Peace River there were very loud parties going on on either side of us til after 11pm. Local workers. Drive today was pretty boring..straight flat. This small town has a curling rink. No wifi so this will be posted retroactively. More workers here, but very quiet. They park huge lumber trucks out back, but I didn't hear them leave (supposedly starting at 4am). Did see 1 fox, but he was too fast for picture.
