Breakfast at camper.Go to Wagners Automotive for free lunch,burgers.Go to rodeo.After rodeo go to Legion for roast turkey dinner.To chuck wagon races,dianne got a phone call that she won a tool kit at Wagners Automotive.Have some beers and fireballs with neighbouring campers.

Jun 26, 2012 - Day Nine

Breakfast at camp site with Harold and Barb. Tour new Calwash Ag Centre,Go to farmers market.Shop downtown Ponoka.Stop at Legion for a drink.Go to afternoon rodeo evening show to watch Charlie Major. Fireworks also.Rain during the show.very windy during the hight.

May 24, 2011 - Alberta (2)

Left Warner,AB @ 9AM. Gas $130 for 104.9 liters @ $1.239. Stopped in Lethbrige, Alberta's 3rd largest city, at Brewery Hill information center. A brewery operated near this site beginning in 1901. The old brewery was demolished in 1991, but the brewery garden started in the early 1960s remains. From here you have a good view of the "High Level Bridge" constructed in 1909. The bridge, with a mile long span and 300 foot elevation, is the longest and highest bridge of its kind in the 'World'. More gas, $116 for 97.6 liters @ $1.189. Arrived in...

Aug 18, 2010 - Making Pickles at Gull Lake

Can you believe it? I rode all the way to Gull Lake to make pickles. Betty-Jo and I got up in the morning and wandered over to Paula and Rick's place, and I got put on the garlic duty (go figure!!!) That really excited Turkey. We started at 9:30 and finished 96 quarts of pickles by 2:00 pm. Paula was very pregnant and I predicted she would have the baby tonight, due to the burst of energy (of pickle making). Lo and behold, they had a baby boy tonight. While we were making pickles, Turkey and Keith walked 7 kms with Keith and Betty-Jo's dog...

Aug 17, 2010 - Gull Lake, Alta

Woke up to overcast skies, and took a look at the Calgary and Red Deer weather. Looked like rain til noon, and then sunnies skies, so we took our time this morning getting out of Lethbridge. We rode through Calgary and stopped for lunch at the Rocking Horse Cafe just north of Calgary (Balzak). Tried to warm up with coffee and soup, and then back on the road.
