Yesterday Christine unpacked and did laundry. I caught up with paperwork and banking. This morning we woke to beautiful sunrise. Sometimes you wonder why you need to travel - but now it is raining and we know why! Well, now the trip is over, how was it? I think one of the highlights was the Edinburgh Tattoo. It was a tremendous experience. Paris was good. A great city to spend time in. Rome was busy. Christine found the crowds overwhelming, the traffic terrifying and the heat oppressive. Not her favourite city. I enjoyed it with its history...Jump to full entry
Sep 10, 2012 - Home!
We were up before 7:00am and got ready, packed the last few things and headed down to the lobby. Christine went in search of a luggage trolley while I checked out. We headed for the shuttle and got to the south terminal and found the Air Transat check-in desk. With club class seats we were soon through and went on to security. We had bad experiences in the past with security here, taking an extremely long time to negotiate, and David had called it a "zoo" when he and Dawn came through three weeks ago. April 22 - Home! An hour and a half before heading to the airport Jen decided to reconfirm our flight times and found out they had changed so that we would miss our last flight. The next two hours were spent on the phone with Alaskan Airlines and LAN Airlines trying to get our tickets re-issued due to a flight number change. Finally we took off to the LAX airport two hours prior to our flight leaving and made it home. 174 days or 6 months Countries: 15 Currencies: 13 Languages: 9 Flights: 27 Boats: 25 Trains: 7 Buses: 48 Books: 45 Monice...Jump to full entry
Aug 30, 2011 - And so Home
We were up really early this morning - about 4:30 a.m. And went over by the shuttle to the South Terminal where we were to Check in for our flight home. There was quite a crowd waiting, but, fortunately, with premium tickets we were able to join a shorter line and not have to stand too long. For some reason, however, the individual premium class passengers were taking longer to be processed, as we could see economy passengers being attended to and leaving while the premium passenger was still at the counter. I am unsure if the lady on our...Jump to full entry
