Another long day of driving but not much traffic and beautiful scenery!! The mountains go right down to Lake Superior - trees and rocks. Lots of "watch for moose" signs - in English and French. One 1/2 mile section of road had motion sensors on each side of road with lights that would flash if a moose was detected on the road. Good thing we drove the section during the afternoon. Jul 23, 2007 - Nipigon to Batchawana Bay Ontario

Today was mainly a "driving day" as opposed to a ride. We followed the TransCanada Highway for 560 km from Nipigon to Batchawana Bay on Lake Superior. The scenery was very good but as with yesterday, repetative; lakes, rocks, trees, trees, lakes, rocks, lakes, rocks, more lakes, more rocks and yet more trees. It is a very, very long drive along the north shore of Lake Superior. The upside was that the traffic was fairly light and the weather cool; just right in fact.
