Oct 8, 2011 - Busy time on return

The coach was all done on our return so after a walk through and sorting out the paperwork we left Montreal. The work done by Horizon Lussier on the coach on our two visits they were going to charge Tiffin over $6,500. Not sure Tiffin has made any money our coach! Hopefully all is right now (fingers and toes crossed). We spent a few days at Cardinal, Ontario. Our first job was picking up Jenny from the girls. She was bouncing and had enjoyed her time with them. We also met up with our friends Diane and Steve once again. The Canadian...

Aug 23, 2011 - Meeting up with Diane and Steve once again

Today we met up with our friends Diane and Steve, a Canadian couple we met early in our travels. Steve had not been well over the winter but now was on the road to recovery and looking well. We had an enjoyable time catching up. Will we see them again before we leave North America who knows. Depends very much on Jenny, now 15 years and nine months, and determined to keep on trucking!

May 3, 2011 - A week at Cardinal

We left Brighton and headed east to Cardinal, ON to a campground close to our friends Diane and Steve to say hello again. The rain continued to come. On the Thursday just before we were leaving to visit Diane and Steve the wind really got very strong, so much so that we brought the slide-outs in. We were also concerned that the trees in the campground were all swaying and the tree next to us we could see the ground moving at its base. We left the coach and hoped everything would be OK when we got back. Heading to Diane and Steve's we were...

Jul 28, 2010 - Saying Hello in Morrisburg

After our eventful Saturday we travelled from Lindsay to Cardinal near Morrisburg to spend a few days meeting up with our friends Diane and Steve. We had first met Diane and Steve about five years ago at a campground in Ottawa. We had met up several times and kept in touch by e-mail but our paths had not crossed for three years. It was great to get together again and we had a lot of talking to catch up on. As well as several meals together we had an enjoyable evening watching the comedy "The Long Weekend" at the Upper Canada Village...

We decided to stop overnight in Cardinal on our way to Montreal to see Sara and Dennis, another couple we know from Bonita Springs. We had contacted them earlier in the week regarding our plans and the route we would be taking. We got together at Bud's On The Bay, a restaurant they picked that was located in Brockville, ON, a 20 minute drive for us a an hour drive from Perth, ON. for them. It was great seeing them again, they are doing great and planning to head south in mid November, but unfortunately not to Bonita, they are headed for...

Aug 3, 2008 - We Decide to Visit the Rock

We received an invitation to attend Elaine and Stuart MacDonald's 25th wedding anniversary celebration. We decided to attend and while on the east coast we should also visit Newfoundland. Reservations for the ferry and a couple of campsites were organized and we left on July 5/08. We had great weather for our first day. Stopped at a KOA in Cardinal, ON. It was a very nice spot with a jumping pillow for the kids. When they jumped on it, it sounded like distant thunder. When we left in the morning and stopped to "dump" there was a hose...

Jul 30, 2008 - Day 25 -- Niagara Falls To Cardinal Ontario Koa --canada!

This was the first day that we traveled in weather. We left Niagara Falls in a summer thunder and lightning storm and traveled through most of New York with the windshield wipers swishing. As we entered the 1000 island region, the rain subsided and we crossed into Canada with clear blue muggy skies. Today was the first time that Gloria had returned to her birth land in over 40 years! We stopped an hour short of Ottawa to get ready and let the kids swim and stretch.
