Feb 28, 2014 - Get us outta here!!!

That's it. We've had enough of winter. Bags are packed and we loaded the truck and set off about 7:30 Friday night after work for Buffalo. Jackson and Owen slept a good portion of the way. Customs was faster than McDonalds drive-thru! Checked into our Hotel at Cheektowaga and were ready for a good sleep.

Jul 4, 2012 - Happy 4th From Canada

Hope everyone had a very safe and fun 4th. Realize there's on US Independence Day up here. They had just had their "Canada Day" the past July 1, which is much like our Independence Day. We made our way to one of the nearby small towns of Lindsay, ON. What a beautiful quaint town. Still has the old downtown with the awesome old buildings and great little shops. We walked around, got us some Canadian money, found the post office for Canadian stamps and ate lunch in a great little restaurant. We found the Chamber of Commerce and got some...

Jun 18, 2011 - Emily Provincial Park

Jon and I eventually made our way back up to Yorkdale Mall. Fortunately, the Wandering Spirit was there, intact, and unblemished. However, we needed to do some business at the mall, so that was the priority. Jon's shoes were in disrepair, so I offered to buy him a new pair. I know better than to go shoe shopping with women, but didn't realize that this would be just as bad. We went to two or three stores, just to see what was available and what the prices were, with no intention of buying. Finally, we went to the store he wanted to buy...

Jul 24, 2010 - Not a good Saturday!

We left Waterloo and planned to head east again to visit friends in Morrisburg, Ontario. First job was to get diesel. The first gas station we passed the canopy was too low, we remembered there was another one further into St Jacobs. Fortunately we could get into that one as there was no canopy. We then got on the road we were going to take route 7 from Guelph but as we came to the junction the road was closed so had to go on a route through Guelph which was interesting to say the least! The signage was poor and there was road works with...

Jun 22, 2007 - And on to Lindsay...

Today, we left the campground early and headed to Lindsay Ont. We decided not to take the 401 and went down highway 7. It's only a two lane but the speed is slower and it was a pleasant drive. We arrived in Lindsay around 2:00 PM and were able to set up for dry camping in the parking lot where our satellite dish is being installed tomorrow. They are providing power and it's free so it's a good deal. David's brother Kent & wife Linda and his sister Kathy & husband Ken drove up from Toronto to have dinner with us. We went to Kelsey's in...
