Today drove to midland, Ontario, which is to the north of Canada. Visited the camp of Sainte Marie among the Hurons. SM was founded by French Jesuits in 1639 in the land of Wendat or Huron people. It was actually designed as retreat for missionaries and a refund for the Christian Hurons, but it was also an example of the French culture. The Wendat shared their knowledge with theJesuits and the mission camp became self sufficient. They made dwellings of the bark of the birch and elm greets, grew corn, kept livestock for food. Jun 28, 2011 - Day two

Yesterday we finished packing and saw the Dr. About my knee he said I was good to go just take it easy for a week or so. So we drove two Maries brother's place near Watertown. We had a good visit with Ray and Nancy Friday evening, we spent the night there. Said our goodbyes early this morning, Ray is a registered nurse and had to leave for work about 7:00 and Nancy had the day off today so she was on her way out to feed the dogs, they have nearly 20 dogs, they are in training for dog sledding. Aug 1, 2008 - Pit stop and luck to find this place!

I say my goodbye’s to a delightful couple, Wanda and Duncan and make my way to Peterborough, sometimes spelt Peterboro’. It is here where I booked a service for Elsie, the fifth since I left Vancouver and I get she gets serviced, nudge-nudge every 5,000 clicks. After her service I start chatting, as usual, with the mechanics as they are not car mechanics, they a bike mechanics and they are usually a bunch of great guys (why don’t women work on bikes anyway!). Sep 14, 2004 - In Toronto

I've arrived in Toronto - or for those of you who know where it is, Orillia. Dad picked me up from the airport last night and we drove up. The chaos of moving was soooo exciting. As always, I might have underestimated how much crap I really have. Fortunately I have some movers going in today to pick up the last little bits of stuff that are at the house.
