Jul 5, 2010 - Being fixed

Today we drove to the vw dealership. they said they could fix it but the parts would arrive tomorrow. So we went to a mall and got some necessary items a pair of sneakers and a bathing suit top. Then we got a campsite at Sibbard Point. The campsites were huge, three good-sized tents could have easily fit in one! The campsites were also very spread out, plus there wasn't many people there. We went to a beach on a lake in the park and swam. We had to go far out to get to water deep enough that we couldn't touch. We also climbed across rock...

Apr 24, 2010 - The Day Of

Well, this is it. Right now it is 1:30. At 4:30 I'll be leaving for he airport and meet up with my aunt, Oma,and Opa, who will be coming with me. The flight leaves at 8:10 and is approximately 7.5 hours long. I am wearing my Bayern Munchen shirt from Munich, Germany. Im siked! I arrived at the airport, and we got off. We went through customs and looked around the lobby. I was in the same area that I was in when I went to Germany a year and a half ago. Shortly after, we went to Casey's for dinner. I had a kid's burger with fries, with...

Apr 23, 2010 - The Day Before

I just finished school and I am starting to pack for my trip to Paris. I am not packing much; clothing, toiletries, my iPod, our video camera, and that's just about it. No iPod touches or anything; won't have time to bring them. Im flying with Air Canada in a 767; it has in-seat on demand videos and tv shows. That's another reason i am not bringing my games. My cousins came over tonight and we watched a playoff hockey game between the habs and the capitals. The habs won 3-2 and now the series is 3-2 for the Caps. (I hope the next time I...

Sep 5, 2006 - Georgian Bay and the North Channel

We left Deb and John's dock in Keswick on Lake Simcoe on June 30, 2006, after enjoying the month visiting with friends and family that we missed dearly while we were away. We spent Canada Day weekend up at Big Chief Island on Lake Couchiching, Orillia with Donna and Steve and Barb and Aart. From there we travelled north through the Trent-Severn Waterway up to Georgian Bay. We spent a month in Georgian Bay and had some boat company. First Dave, Brenda, Marty, Garrett and Robyn Wood joined us for a couple of days on Beausoleil Island. Then...

Sep 6, 2005 - Canada - Beards, Bears and Burping

Prologue August 26th 6am and dawn broke over the sleepy Essex suburb of Chelmer Village. As we rubbed the sleep from our eyes and cursed quietly over whose stupid idea it was to get up at that time in the morning, we were both filled with a sense of trepidation and excitement in equal measure when considering the journey we had ahead of ourselves. After being bundled into the car by an all too eager Mum and Dad Finlay, we proceeded to fight our way across the traditional morning motor scrum on the M25. Eventually, Heathrow beckoned and...

Sep 26, 2004 - Niagara to Toronto

This was a short drive and so we had plenty of time to check out Toronto. Still stuffed from the pancakes we made the short trip. When we arrived in our hostel we settled in and then Rich and I went to go up the CN Tower - the largest building in the world - this was amazingly high and had great views. We then got lunch and did some shopping in the Eaton Mall - which again was huge. For dinner we had a meal in Wayne Gretzky's restaurant - which was about as tacky as you could imagine, but the food was good, and we capped the evening off by...
