Aug 30, 2009 - Winding down

We are about to begin the final phase of summer. The RV park is thinned out and getting quiet. The kids must be back in school. We are still doing the usual things. Floating the Yellowstone River, hiking in the Park, and driving around looking for animals.

Aug 12, 2009 - a busy month gone by

A month since my previous entry. Yes, we have been busy, but I will be brief, since we are getting ready now to hike in Yellowstone. Earlier this month we set up the blind on a hillside just north of the park, hoping to see an animal stroll by. Within 10 minutes of setting up Larry saw some elk antlers on a mountainside a couple miles away. We packed up in a hurry and drove to where we figured was the shortest distance to climb up to get them. Without going in to great detail...we did get them. Jul 8, 2009 - fishing in Canada

We have been away from Sheridan for the past 10 days. It was a lot of driving time to get to the Nungesser Lake in northern Ontario. The end of main road is the town of Red Lake, then we drove an hour on a dirt road, and took 2 different boats to finally arrive at our destination. Let me say first about our accommodations.....this was not the Marriott. It was basic cabin in a woods on a beach. It is heaven for mosquitoes. We fixed breakfast and snacks in our cabin and had dinner in the main dining cabin. Larry found 17 almonds in his boot...
