There are many ways to get to Florida from Canada... or home, as in our case, to Canada. One of which is Highway 75 that takes you from Windsor/Detroit all the way to Tampa. A nice easy drive. You can take a slight detour and visit Nashville but for the most part it's a direct route south (but it does have some large cities to navigate around). Jan 4, 2017 - A Good Reason To Go

After a false start over a year ago, we are once again on the road to Texas. Just to catch you all up: in 2015 we packed up said bye to Mike's mom and headed on to Windsor only to question her health. So we went back to Toronto, took mom in for tests, then a couple of hospital stays, and after a month brought mom back to Stittsville into a retirement home. And we then spent the winter in our daughters basement apartment, making visits to mom... and then it was Christmas and New Years eve and our daughter gave birth early to little Aaron...

Texas Again

Sep 29, 2016 - The Plan

On Sunday, after packing the lake site for the winter, we drove the bus to a friends' lot. They are building a house and they need a place to stay while it is being finished. We know they will take very good care of our baby while we're gone! Here we sit, back in our daughter's basement (where we lived for the winter), the night before flying out of Ottawa... suitcases almost packed at our feet... When it comes to packing for a trip, I’m a bit of a disaster. Despite my best intentions to pack the bare minimum of what I will need, I always end up over-packing. It’s a rather chronic condition and I’m not exactly sure where it goes off the rails. Well, then again maybe I am. I always start with lists. I love lists.
