After our briefing last night we were up at 6am for breakfast to begin our day. They don't hang around here! Unfortunately we were alerted at 6.30 that there had been a major earthquake in Chile and we were not allowed to sail or go anywhere until the president of Ecuador said so. Because of Tsunamis the captain was playing it safe and just waited where we were. We weren't even sure if we could continue our journey as we are in the same seas as Santiago, where the huge earthquake happened. The earthquake killed may people. Having been...

June's Sabbatical

Mar 10, 2008 - GALAPAGOS!!! (Seymour Norte Island)

We arrived back in Santa Cruz yesterday, and booked a day tour to Seymour Norte to see the boobies and frigate birds close up, and to go snorkling again - and we're really glad we did! The boat was a real treat: comfy matresses to relax in the sun on in front, and free drinks, and lunch with table cloths... all very posh! Our guide was good too, and put up with and answered our many questions (we'd been storing them for 2 weeks!).
