Song Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd Rupees spent 250 Catch the bus the next morning, riding on the top enjoying the sweeping views of the miles wide valley. Get to the foot of the rock on which Stongde stands and after a steep climb get to the gompa. Preparations are underway for the start of the festival and I wander into the mask room, where some of the monks are taking down the huge masks and checking them over. Rupees spent 295 Time left 08.00 Arrive Zangla 11.30 Song in my head - Horse with no name (again) I've now left the gorges behind as the Zanskar valley broadens out into a wide plain and I make my way across to the ancient capital of Zanskar, Zangla. Passing a lovely shelter (4 rooms) 45 minutes down the lower path, cross the Zanskar just before Pidmo and after crossing another desolate plain, past some workmen laying a water pipe down arrive at the nunnery just outside Zangla.
