Rolling and rumbling on we moved from Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia to Irkusk, Listvyanka, Russia with an eleven hour border crossing in between. Aug 11, 2006 - Transiberian

We have begun the transiberian journey. in fact we are now a little over half way through and now are deep in siberia. It has been an interesting couple of days. After all the racing around St Petersberg and Moscow desperately trying to see everything, the train journey has given us some enforced rest time. I don't really know what to say about it. it has been different from anything we have done before. it is a stately way to travel and not really for the impatient or easily bored.
