All is well! Now staying with Scott and Chrissy our missionary friends, in a village 40km out of Nan City. To get to Nan we took a local bus from Chaing Rai, cost 170 Baht each about $5.80! To go 270km, we had been told it would take about 4 hours. The bus was supposed to leave at 9:30 we got there in good time at 8:45 to allow time to figure out ticketing, to our surprise the bus pulled out at 9am as they had enough people on board! Lucky we had been early! Many people ended up standing for hours! The bus stopped after one and half hours...

Dec 30, 2005 - Central Thailand - Rockin New Year's Eve

the heat is makin us sweat like donkeys :-) Staying near Khao San Road - the famous backpacker street. Anything you want you can get here - driving license, MBA, passport, food, party, ladyboys - its all here. New Years was top!!! Spent at the famous (and wallet busting) Q bar. 4 hours of dancing on the podium...Roll on 2006! Choee in particular throwing shapes to the amazement of the crowd.

Jan 14, 2005 - Nan, Thailand

Nan is a beautiful smale city full of unique temples and incredible people. We were intending to only stay here two nights, but ended up staying for five. The second day we went to a nearby park (Tham Pha Tub) with a complex of over 17 caves hidden in the mountains. We climbed and explored for hours and only saw a small portion of the caves and trails. For lunch we ate at a local Thai village where we had our sinuses burned out by the hot chillies in our green papaya salad. On the trails in the park we encountered a feisty monkey that...
