Friday 2nd October After another rainy night we filled the fresh water bottles & emptied the toilet cassette & waste water tank in more rain before paying for the parking. Not bad at all, a total of £10.50 for the two night stay plus free bus rides into Canterbury. It would be great if a lot more car parks had such facilities at such a reasonable charge. All great journeys start with a small step, in our case to sister Judys. Margate is one of those towns wrapped in the nostalgia of our youth. The early morning trip to the station, that delicious acrid smell of steam trains waiting at the platform to whisk you away on the annual holiday by the seaside. Then at Margate catching a taxi to, what you did not know then, your third rate hotel or boarding house run by a dragon of a landlady!
