Apr 23, 2017 - Off to Atascadero

Larry here: We left on Sunday for the Atascadero Elks lodge which is one of the ones up the coast that we have not previously visited. As we started pulling hills, I felt the motor home cutting out of power on the hills. We arrived in Atascadero, and knowing that our fuel gauge is not reliable, decided to pull into the first station with diesel fuel to see if that would solve our power problem. The gas station had a steep drive way and I ended up dragging the back of the coach so bad that the drive tires were hardly touching the ground....

Nov 1, 2016 - Central Coast California

We are now all settled in to a Coast to Coast park overlooking the Pismo Dunes in central coast California. We have had a welcome change to all the rain and so far we have enjoyed sunny, warm days. They need rain here badly so they are not as thrilled with the sunshine as we are. We left Ukiah on a Sunday as we thought it would be better to get around the San Francisco area. It may have been better but it still was a nail bitter. When you live in a county with 5 traffic lights,(several of which turn off at 10:00 p.m.) you can imagine how...

After a hectic ride through LA we finally settled down on our journey up the California coast on highway 101. The ride was very pleasant and we made good time. Unfortunately, we somehow lost our electrical surge protector, maybe at our last camp out in Pechanga, Oh well we'll buy another this will be the third one. Steve

Apr 3, 2015 - Classic California

We left our camp site on the Rincon Beach Parkway headed up the coast about 120 miles on Pacific Coast Highway 101. It is a beautiful drive, mostly along the coastline with the ocean on one side and the rolling hills on the other. The rolling hills are mostly covered in grapevines and/or pasture land. We planned the trip so we could stop for lunch at Andersons Pea Soup Restaurant and were not disappointed. We have eaten there before and the soup is always delicious. Along with everything else they serve. Our destination was Pismo Dunes RV...

Crawford's Trip 2014

Feb 22, 2015 - Off On Another Adventure !

What a great way to celebrate my 39th birthday (plus 22, but who's counting?) We left Aptos yesterday for a 2+ hour drive south to ATASCADERO, where we parked at the Elks Lodge for a $25 donation. The benefit of Bill being an ELK is that we can stay at any Elks Lodge throughout the country that has RV accommodations for a nominal donation. This one had full hookups, including cable TV and wifi - can't ask for much more. Oh yeah, maybe a bar ? They have that too ! We had a drink along with champagne compliments of a couple celebrating...

Feb 21, 2014 - Aqua Hot serviced

Arts Mobile RV came out to check out the Aqua Hot. He serviced it and said everything sounds and looks good. Once he finished, we took a drive to San Simeon campground. We are trying to find a spot to stay at for Trevor's wedding. Looks like we will fit in a lot of the upper spots, but none of the lower. Had lunch in Cambria and then went back to the RV spot.

Jun 23, 2008 - American Airlines Sucks

Yes, it sucks majorly. On a six hour flight from NY to LA, i got a can of coke. There were 'snacks' that could be purchased, but by the time they got to me, most things were sold out (Lucky me was in the back row, right next to the loos. I had the arses of people desperate to go to the toilet in my face. Just great). I got a pack of chips in a can that made me feel sick. And then it took forever for our luggage to make an appearance on the carousel, so by the time we left the airport, it was about 5pm. We picked up our car (sexy red...
