Feb 17, 2013 - Some Leaving More Coming

Feb 16, 2013 - No Wonder We're So Busy

What a day, we were two sites away from having all fifty sites filled. Mary was extremely busy at the visitor plus trying complete her duties taking care of the daily receipts from yesterday. The weather has been incredible lately getting into the seventies during the day then dropping down to the mid forties at night, combine that with a three day weekend it is no wonder that we are so busy. My butt was definitely dragging when I finally called it a day some where around 8:30PM

Feb 15, 2013 - Another Long Busy Day

A very busy and hectic day for the both of us, it was after 1PM before Mary got home for lunch. Me and Don hauled off a couple loads of tree trimmings and then I went around making sure all the campsites were clean and ready for incoming reservations tomorrow. After lunch we went into Napa for our weekly trip to Wal-Mart. When I filled up the Cobalt the price of regular unleaded was up to $3.899 a gallon that's up over forty cents from a couple of weeks ago. It was after dark before I came in for dinner, seems everyone has questions or...

Feb 14, 2013 - Tractor Shed Red

After doing my morning duties then stopping for our ten o'clock coffee break me and Don hauled three heaping pickup loads of split wood to my place from the day use area that him and Bill had split up earlier in the week. I've now got about a dozen skids of split wood at my place to be shrink wrapped into bundles that we sell for eight dollars each. It's six weeks before we leave but I doubt I'll have it all bundled before we leave here. This evening we had a Valentines day pot luck down at the visitor center meeting room, needless to say...

Feb 13, 2013 - Demon Laundry Rears It's Ugly Head Again

Mary feeling better today so she went into Calistoga to catch up with the demon laundry. We've got thirty two reservation for the three day weekend so I put out all the reserved cards on the campsite posts and made sure all the campsites were clean and ready.

Feb 12, 2013 - Going Home Winners

River Rock Casino sent us some coupons for free play and food discounts so we decided to go up for lunch. Mary did the driving and it seemed to help because she didn't get car sick even though she still isn't feeling quite up to par. We got there just before noon so we had lunch right away, lunch cost us $7.00 and four of that was the tip, once again the food is tasty but not much variety and not very hot. About 2:30 Mary said she didn't feel well so we headed home with a few extra bucks in our pocket because for a change we both left as...

Feb 11, 2013 - Nice Weather = Busy

Mary spent most of her shift in the visitor center, it was surprisingly busy most likely due to the nice weather. After lunch she went into Calistoga to do laundry but it was so busy that there wasn't even one open machine. I had five camp sites posts that had rotted and needed replacing, between the rocks and the tree roots it was no easy chore trying to dig a two foot hole to set them in.

Feb 9, 2013 - Even Better Tomorrow

I wonder if Sampson the bull at Leisure Resort in Fentress Texas is still climbing through the fence now that he is a year older? I still have some pain in my back and right leg from the sciatic nerve that has been bothering me, shrink wrapping and stacking a few cords of wood today didn't help it any. Mary made up a roaster of stuffed cabbage rolls one of my favorites, they were great today but always seem to be even better the next day.

Feb 8, 2013 - One Extreme Too The Other

After all the rain we had in December we were ahead of the normal rainfall for the year but since then we've fallen below due to the lack of rain and there isn't any more in sight for the next 10 days according to the weatherman's forecast. We had a volunteer group come in to cut down some of the dead trees mostly down in the day use area. Don and Bill split up four pick up loads of wood that me and Tyler stacked up at my place.

Feb 7, 2013 - Dealing With Insurance Companies, Grrrrr!!

Started raining some time during the night and didn't quit until late this afternoon. looks like we got close to half an inch. Mary put in her four hour shift processing the receipts for the last couple days then worked in the visitor center. I was on the phone and computer most of the day trying to get our new medical and prescription insurances straighten out as well as cancelling the old policies, not an easy task when you can't sit down for more than a few minutes at a time.

Feb 6, 2013 - Busy Young Lady

My sciatic nerve is feeling a little better, the only time that it really bothers me is when I sit down. Mary went into Calistoga to do up a couple loads of laundry this morning then this afternoon laid down for a nap after baking an angel food cake. I kept busy working around the house and working in the campground. The campsite picnic tables are 30 years old made of heavy duty redwood so I loaded up the generator to try sanding a few of them but even using 40 grit sandpaper and a lot of elbow grease I'm not sure it was worth it.

Feb 5, 2013 - We Might Get Stranded

Quick trip into Napa Wal-Mart for our weekly stock up, you never know when you might be stranded for four or five weeks so Mary wants to make sure we are covered. My back is really bothering me again today so not doing much other than a little puttering around the coach. We were invited over to Don and Marti's for a glass of wine this evening, Sheila brought brownies she had baked in her new convection oven. While we were there Don gave me some pressure point massage to help me with my back ache.
