Oct 27, 2015 - Concord, CA

We left around 9:00 this morning being that we only had about 250 miles. Before we left Bill somehow poked himself in the eye. He is now on a CPAP and the strap makes his head itch. After shaving he went to rub his wet hair and when he leaned his head down with the area so restricted his face and hand collided. He couldn't see at all out of that eye so I drove home. We arrived home around 2:00. We were very glad to be home and so was our family as they arrived with greetings on a staggered basis the rest of the evening. The next day Bill...

Sep 4, 2014 - Concord, Ca home at last

We left Carson City around 9:30. We took Highway 50 over the hill to Lake Tahoe. We always enjoy this route because it is so beautiful. Margaret drove to just below Eldorado Hills and Bill drove the rest of the way home. We arrived to have our daughter Katie meet us on the sidewalk. It is nice to know that family misses you. She had the crockpot going and was making an enchilada dinner for everyone. Just about everyone arrived after school and work. Our oldest daughter and husband Jim will see us tomorrow because they had back to school...

Oct 14, 2010 - Port Chicago

Oct 14, 2010 Today we are in Concord, Ca and our National site today is the Port Chicago Naval Magazine National Memorial, the 392nd unit in the National Park Service. As WWII raged in Asia and Europe during the late ‘30’s and early ‘40’s America clung to a hope that it could remain isolated. The bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese on Dec. 7, 1941 changed all of that and America responded to the nation’s call to arms. Munitions and supplies were going to be needed in both the European and the Pacific theater. To supply these, the Navy...

Feb 6, 2010 - Back to the Bay area

From the bright lights of Vegas, it was back to the Bay area where I sat in on the CSP Staging Training class...WOW! I had thought of taking the class years ago and wished over and over that I had done so. Christine Rae taught the class and it is packed full of no nonsense ideas of "the business of doing the staging business (and doing it well)." The tools and marketing ideas she gives her students are more than worth the investment of the class. If you know anyone considering getting in to the staging business, have them give me a call and...

May 6, 2009 - Concord, CA

Wednesday - Sunday This morning we drove to Concord, CA for a visit with our friends Linda and Don. Linda lived in Rochester for years until she met Don and moved to California five years ago. What a treat to see them - and to stay in their house for four nights. We toured Napa with their guidance on Thursday, where we met an incredible character, the horticulturalist at Rombauer Vineyards. He gave us a tour of the cellars and grounds, and told us a story about throwing stones at a tree in which the Dalai Lama was meditating, unbeknownst to...

Mar 11, 2009 - Concord, California

On our way again, headed to Concord to Visit John's Uncle Clarence and Cecilia. It's amazing where we can find to park our RV. I am glad it is not any bigger. We parked right on the street by their apartment complex. Of course we had to unhook the Rav4, but that's an easy job. Had a great visit. They spoiled us and we enjoyed it. Dinner at a wonderful Mexican Restaurant and they didn't let us leave without a care package of fruit and wine from Napa Valley. We didn't take in the wineries this trip, as we caught them last August.

Mar 10, 2008 - Visiting the Rosenbergers

After leaving Monterey on the 7th, we headed to Concord (east of San Francisco) to visit Russell's cousin George and his wife, Lucille. This is the third time we've been able to visit since getting the RV in 2000. It was so nice to just hang out, sleep late, eat and talk endlessly. We were invited over to their daughter Tina's home for dinner. Andrew, Tina, little Christopher and the two beagles treated us to a BBQ. Tina is into scapbooking and starting to stamp cards, so we were able to compare notes. Lucille collects dolls that are so...
