Oct 14, 2005 - Coarsegold, CA - Ride into Glacier Point, Yosemite Nat'l Park

Fairly cool this morning, in the 40's, and decided to ride the Road King into Yosemite National Park. The "tour guide" thought that going "up high" would be good so we headed for Glacier Point at just under 7500'. This affords you a 270^ field of view of the Yosemite Valley, North Dome, Half Dome and the surrounding mountains that make up the Tenaya Canyon. It's 3000' to the valley floor below. . . .unobstructed. . . straight down ! The photo doesn't due it justice. Have read many stories of the naturalist John Muir hiking out here year...
