Nov 7, 2010 - California

So, solid day today in California. Spent the morning at Hermosa Beach with a little volleyball, bodysurfing and one of Shane's neighbors who kept trying to decapitate us with a boomerang. Water was freezing, but Shane fortunately had a wetsuit for me. Got some good videos with the new underwater camera. Had some lunch at a cool local Mexican place. Then we headed out to Venice to see the sights, sounds and smells (mostly we smelled weed and incense.) Hit some great surf shops on the way back and a cool vintage longboard shop. Probably grab...

May 21, 2009 - beaches and burns

We started the day with a car wash for the Mirage, she needed it with all the dead bugs all over her, you could barely read my front license plate. We then went to Venice Beach, where we walked a long ways along the water and then back up the boardwalk to see all the freaks. Unfortunatly, muscle beach and the skate park were closed and under construction which took alot of the fun out of Venice Beach, but there was still enough crazies around. We then drove a bit more south to Manhattan and Hermosa Beaches, were we walked the boardwalks a...

Apr 13, 2008 - Sun worshipping on Hermosa Beach

This was a chilled day on the beach. We sun worshipped for the day nursing hang overs. Steve, Mark and I got into the freezing cold Pacific Ocean for our first swim. The water was so cold you couldn't stay in for longer than 5 minutes. We then went back to the hotel and sat at the pool discussing travel plans for the rest of the time. We got Chinese from across the road for dinner after doing some laundry. Our bodies relished the fact that we were having veggies. Steve and I went to the 7eleven for chocolates and milk and we went back to...

Apr 12, 2008 - Trip to Hermosa Beach

Packed up and went across to the Santa Monica Pier. There is a theme park on the pier called Pacific Park. We walked along the pier and then drove across to Venice Beach again. We did some souvenir shopping and then hit the road not knowing where we would stay that night. We drove into Hermosa Beach, which had been a suggestion from my drunken friend in San Fran, and it looked like the biggest party town so we decided to spend two nights here. We found accommodation at the Hermosa Hotel and made our way down to the beach which had plenty of...
