What a fabulous day! Our friends, Jack and Joyce, took us on a whirlwind tour of the La Jolla - San Diego area. We started out at the Torrey Pines Reserve following the mile and a half trail down to a terrific vantage point to see the ocean. Beautiful! After that we went to the Torrey Pines Golf Course where a golf championship is held every year. Jack and Joyce are big into golfing so are regulars at the yearly tournament. Jun 22, 2008 - La Jolla Cove

Just north of the bay of San Diego is a cove in the coast line called La Jolla Cove. It is where Scripps Oceanographic Institute is and the entire cove is a protected marine sanctuary. It is very rich in aquatic life both above and below the surface with everything from California Sea Lions to Leopard Sharks to huge Giant Sea Bass. Deb and I did about 10 dives in and around La Jolla. It took us about 3 months to get brave enough to do it since the water temp was averaging about 65 degrees! But with 7mil suits, gloves and hoods we were fine....
