May 11, 2009 - Kentwood, MI (Day 2) - Meijer Gardens; Grand Rapids, MI

(Ron Writing) We visited the Frederik Meijer (pronounced Meyer) Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, MI. It’s rated a “gem” by AAA and we’d agree that it’s well worth a visit. There is a large Tropical Conservatory kept warm and humid for a wide variety of tropical plants and also butterflies. But most of the displays are featured outdoors on the 125-acre grounds. May 10, 2009 - Kentwood, MI - Beechwood Church, Holland, MI

(Ron Writing) This morning we attended worship service at the Beechwood Church, just a mile or two from our campground. It’s a large church with three services on Sunday morning. We enjoyed the service and the message but were disappointed that they don’t have adult Sunday School classes. After church we returned to the campground for lunch and then packed up Da Honu for travel. Since leaving Arizona a month ago, this was the first time we camped with hook-ups and the first time we’d driven around in the truck without Da Honu. We left...
