Aug 27, 2006 - Along the Platte River
Today we visited 3 museums on the Oregon Trail. First, we went to Fort Laramie, where the emigrants rested, repaired their equipment and bought supplies before pushing on across the desert. It was built on the confluence of the Platte and the Laramie Rivers. It is laid out like most of the frontier forts we have seen. In fact it reminded Bob of army posts he had lived on when he was young.
