After a long day Wednesday and the fact that Thursday was predicting wind, rain and snow for the area we decided to stay put and have a PJ day. Wednesday was 84 and that night it dropped to 33. The wind blowed all night and most of the next day. It didn't get over 45 Thursday. We needed a days rest anyway. We got up this morning and it was clear sky with no wind. Apr 26, 2013 - Stromsburg NE - Buckley Park

Came to one of the little city parks Nebraska after leaving North Platte. This is a great little park with water and electricity and it's donations only, so the price is right. Bridget is in seventh heaven. They have green grass here and squirrels. Two of her favorite things. Got 3 more stops on our wine tour on the way here and will get Central City and Stromsburg before we leave here. You know, we haven't even drunk all of the wine we got on last year's tour. Retired at Last!

Jun 9, 2010 - A Day of Cemeteries

Today we drove 100 miles east and are camped in a campground provided by the town of Stromsburg, Nebraska. My mother lived here when she was a child and I have been here once before. Stromsburg is called the Swedish Capital of Nebraska because of all the Swedes who emigrated here beginning in the 1840s. My grandfather's name was Linstrom which is Swedish. I'm really impressed that they would provide a campground which is beautiful. In a couple of weeks they will have a Swedish festival in Stromsburg so having the campground may encourage...
