Oct 31, 2020 - Leaving Idaho...entering Nevada
We were up and underway at about 0815. We all finally slept good last night. Thank you for your prayers. Zoey didn't get up at all, yeah. No midnight trips outside with a flashlight and a poop bag. The answer for yesterdays photo question is: sugar beets (before I forget). It was cold this morning in Mountain home...the low 30's. But it warmed up quickly to the mid 50's today. The weather was clear and very sunny. We took on fuel around noon in Wells, Nevada. And we ate our lunch in the vacant lot across the street. Real exciting,...

Oct 9, 2020 - Paying a visit to Gardnerville, NV
We arrived in Gardnerville on Oct. 3rd, we have been busy running around checking out the area & visiting with friends (Arnold & Jennifer). Photos of town to come later. Arnold told us that while we are here, we should go see Hope Valley & Blue Lake (located across the Ca. border, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains). Its a beautiful area, can't believe that Pete & I have never heard of the area before...the Sierra Nevada's are old vacation stomping grounds for us.

Oct 2, 2020 - Product Marketing
We purchased a couple of small items for our new rig to make it more comfortable. Attached to one of the things we bought was the following description: “Capture a cool, contemporary look by adding gray into your favorite color scheme. Gray is the color of intellect, knowledge, and wisdom. It is perceived as a long-lasting classic, and often as sleek or refined. It is a color that is dignified, conservative and carries authority. Neither boring nor drab, gray is perfect for creating a chic new look in your home.” Wow! You might ask...

Sep 21, 2020 - VanEmm Horse Ranch and Resort Mound House, NV
Not everything is this state (Nevada is the fourth largest) is far apart. Especially when you consider the north western portion of this state used to be the most populous. So, our drive from Fernley to Mound House is always a short 60 miles. Our friends, The Van Emmeriks, have come to the rescue again with an invite to park on their property and wait out this China Virus. We’ll be toggling between Dave’s brothers home in Fernley and here. We (the four of us) were supposed to go to a nearby lake, Pyramid Lake, for a grand month of fishing....

Sep 17, 2020 - Fernley, NV
It was a long drive 330 mile drive from Chiloquin, OR to Fernley, NV. Though the smoke in the western states from all the fires is bad, dense and bothersome, we are glad to be on the move. We’re headed to the home of Dave’s brother, Frank and his wife Sharon. They have an RV space next to their home that we haven’t tried yet, but we evaluated the space last May and found it to be large enough for us. So anytime one can save money on space rent AND be close to loved ones, it’s a win, win proposition... We’ll be here just for 6 days this...

Aug 6, 2020 - Las Vegas NV
We have been in Las Vegas now for a couple of days. Basically we wanted to see how they were operating with all the virus issues. There are 51000 cases in Nevada and 45000 are in Clark County (Vegas). We are being very careful. Basically Vegas is kind of a ghost town. The casinos are empty. They seem to be using this opportunity to work on infrastructure, the Strip is torn up, and practically everything is closed. A lot of the casinos have plastic barriers to protect the dealers and players. Three people maximum at a blackjack table and 6...

Jun 24, 2020 - Winnemucca, Nevada
Headed out US 95 to Winnemucca, NV where we stayed at New Frontier RV Park for one night. Wind blew and thunder and lightning storm in the evening. Ran into difficulty with our hydraulics as we were are a sloped sight. After sometime, Dale finally got our leveling system to work. He had called a mobile repair service as he didn't think he could resolve the issue. However, he did and called the repair man back, but he said he would stop by just in case there was any further trouble. Nice service!

May 26, 2020 - Summer Travel Season - Leg #1
/// May 26, 2020 Summer Travel Season 2020 With our travel preparation about completed we decided to depart Yuma a couple days earlier than originally planned. The weather this past several days has been much warmer than expected. The triple digit temperatures were wearing us out. We got off to a good start Tuesday morning for Leg #1 and the 280 mile trip north to Boulder City, NV. Our route would take us north on Hwy 95. Traffic was light, the road conditions were mostly very good and we made good time. We made just two stops along the...

May 16, 2020 - Heading North
So, as predicted, it took about a day and a half to transfer all our stuff and food to the motorhome, then there was the cleanup and straighten-up of the house. We departed Desert Gold an hour later than we’d hoped for, but we’re on the road nonetheless!! A beautiful day to drive, sunshine, cool temperatures and very little wind! We made it to our first night destination at the Death Valley Inn and RV Park in Beatty Nevada. We were awakened at 4:03 a.m. by the shaking of our motorhome due to a 6.5 Richter earthquake. As it turned out, about...

Apr 21, 2020 - Heading into Nevada
We got up at 0630 and were underway again a bit after 0800. We are Heading for Nevada today. We are trying to get through Las Vegas early and hopefully have pretty light traffic there. Las Vegas had rain and thunderstorms yesterday and they are saying there is more of it today. Plus there is wind in the forecast and the earlier we get on the road the better. So we made our fist stop at Searchlight, Nevada. Not a very exciting place, but a good place to take Miss Zoey for a potty walk. She didn't seemed very impressed with Searchlight either...

Mar 19, 2020 - Laughlin Nevada - March 19 - 20
Staying at the Avi Casino for 2 nights while we wait for cooler temperatures north of us to warm up prior to moving again on Saturday. The Governor of Nevada has ordered the shutdown of all casinos in Nevada. I kind of expected this, and it is something to see an empty parking here at the Avi. There was one small Indian casino back in Fort Mohave still open when we came past it 1/2 hr ago. Seems they don't have to follow the same rules? Good drive today ,no issues today,we pulled into a cloud filled sky but no rain as of 6 pm

. Pablo Picasso's 1921 painting ''Nature Morte'' is being raffled off for charity on May 20th for just over $100, a bargain when compared to the millions of dollars the famous Spanish painter's work regularly goes for. The money will go to help bring clean water to African villages. . With the coronavirus threat looming, I decided to skip going to the casinos, and used the hundred bucks I would have lost anyway to buy a lottery ticket for the Picaso. https://1picasso100euros.com/ . Leaving the RV park in Morro Bay, California on...
