Sep 21, 2015 - Lake Erie to Florida - the long trip South

It is starting to get chilly here in the Northeast, so these two fair weather RV nomads have decided to slog south toward Florida and warmer temperatures. We blasted through the Eastern seaboard, stopping for s night or two here and there. Freezing temperatures can wreak havoc with a motorhome, because they are not designed for cold weather living. Jul 18, 2012 - Day 16 Amsterdam NY to Dunkirk NY

Stayed in Amsterdam for the night as I was told that there was a new HD dealer here, it was about 10 miles north of the interstate so we headed west on I-90 to Syracuse or Buffalo for a tire. The stop at Performance HD in Syracuse was slammed and already had a bike with tires being put on, so off to Buffalo, NY. As we approached Buffalo started seeing signs to Niagara Falls so added that as our next stop after the tire. The HD dealer of Buffalo was in a recycled bowling alley, really a nice facility with a lot of history. Had a great lunch...

Today, we drove south on the Seaway Trail, through Niagra Falls. We stopped at a roadside stand and bought fresh cherries and peaches. We only had to disconnect and reconnect the toad, twice, at the same lighthouse. We walked to the top of 30 Mile Point Lighthouse,in Somerset, Ny, which is HAUNTED. It stands on the grounds of Golden Hill State Park. The park rents the attached three bedroom cottage off of the lighthouse for overnight stays. Numerous visitors have reported seeing different people, some even dressed like a lighthouse keeper,...

Dec 24, 2007 - Heading to Buffalo

Today we tried to get a little catch up sleep. We slept late and took our time getting ready. We headed out of Toledo after having lunch at Bob Evans (kinda like a shoney's and Ihop together). It was a very dreary day, overcast and gray. We rode along the coast of Lake Erie. We drove up to a penninsula and looked out at the beach. Then we drove along the coast further and found an Alpaca farm. When we pulled up next to the fence the alpacas came to see what we were doing and Killer kept growling and barking at them. They are funny looking...
