After leaving Maine, we drove in the rain to Vermont where we stayed at Lake Champagne Campground in Randolph Center. It was a nice park and would be fine for a returnvisit. We visited with Fred's friends Koke and Andi from our college days, wandered around Woodstock, Vermont (the old general store there is really neat!)and visited Quechee Gorge. Sep 15, 2007 - Fort Ticonderoga

Last weekend we took a trip to Lake George and Lake Champlain and saw Fort Ticonderoga and Fort Crown Point. Lake Champlain is really pretty, family owned farms surrounded by mountians. Fort Ticonderoga was the most strategic location during the French and Indian War and Revolutionary War. It controlled the water highway between New York City and Canada. Many battles were fought here and the book/movie "Last of the Mohican's" is based on these battles. Have you noticed that people loose all common sense when on vacation. City dwellers over...
