Jul 16, 2011 - Schenectady, N. Y.
A short drive to Schenectady, NY. We drove beside small lakes and the Erie Canal. Not much here to see so will only spend one night here. This is a blue collar town but the campground is nice. Another family type with a small lake and lots of things for the kids. We are backed up to a huge play field. Parked next to another HHII from OK. BillJump to full entry
Jul 9, 2011 - Hampton Beach 2011
We finally got all the crops planted and sprayed. This morning we started our trip to Hampton Beach. We had decided to make the border crossing at Queenston/Lewiston at Niagara Falls. As we approached Niagara they had warnings signs of a two hour delay at the Queenston bridge. Not wanting to be stopped for several hours, we decided to continue to Fort Erie and make the crossing there. We were still delayed about an hour, but cleared customs and headed east along I90 toward Albany. It cost us $45.00 in tolls to get to Albany, but was an...Jump to full entry
Jul 9, 2009 - Highland Falls to Schenectady, NY
We got an early start for once and arrived at West Point a bit after 9 a.m. We caught a one-hour tour at 9:45. It was a little pricey -- $42 – but it was great. We hopped on a school bus and our tour guide told us all about the history of the campus. We stopped at the largest cathedral, drove past all of the professors’ houses, then got out again in front of the dorms and mess hall. Although it’s summer and regular classes aren’t in session, the cadets get very little time off. They spend this time in combat training. We saw cadets and a...Jump to full entry
Oct 5, 2008 - Just hanging out
Sunday 10/5/08 Just hanging out I took the truck to the car wash this morning. I couldn’t stand the dirt any more. The brush-less car wash works pretty well. I used the self serve in Sault Saint Marie, Mi. It wasn’t as clean, it cost me more and I was wet when I finished. This is much better. After washing the truck, we went to lunch and did some shopping to resupply the MH. Ray grows giant pumpkins and enters them in the Cooperstown, NY competition. It was last weekend this year. His weighed 420 pounds but the winner weighed 1280 pounds....Jump to full entry

Along the way we stopped at the Apple Barrel craft shop; an interesting place. During this entire trip, Cherie has been looking for a moose. The only one’s she has seen are the 2-D black ones on a yellow back ground. I think she saw today the only moose she is going to see; see picture. Saturday 10/4/08 Went for a longer drive We first went to Warrensburg RV park in the...Jump to full entry
Oct 2, 2008 - Driving to Schenectady, NY
Wednesday 10/2/08 Driving to Schenectady, NY IT’s a 200 mile trip to Schenectady. We left Meredith, NH about 9:45am, 53 degrees and overcast skies. A little way down the road it started to rain. It rained off and on all the way to Schenectady We could see patches of blue off to the west but they eluded us. We went south a short distance down I-93 then turned west on Hwy 9 toward Vermont. The fall color just gets better and better as we drive west. Crossing into Vermont, we drive along the river, passing ponds with still water and trees...Jump to full entry
Sep 16, 2007 - Travel day to Schenectady, NY...
We have arrived in Schenectady. What a beautiful drive! The weather was clear & sunny, temp about 58. Sweatshirt & jeans today. We got a late start (as usual), 11:37am when we pulled out. We decided to skip the toll road I-90 & take Hwy 20 into Albany. Well, for viewing purposes it was fabulous. But for pulling purposes, it was terrible. Up, down, up down & lots of stop lights as we went in & out of little villages. The climbs were steep enough that we were floored & only making 32 MPH. And then major braking coming down. Even with the tow...Jump to full entry
We said good-bye to Joe & Donna and headed for Schenectady, NY. Donna packed us a lunch and we stopped and had that at a rest area on the Mass. Pike. We arrived at Frosty Acres, our home for the next couple of weeks. We're going to see Joe's Aunt Mary and her sister, Nellie, We drove into Mass. to see Aunt Irene; couldn't get away without a delicious dinner. Irene is doing really well but misses Uncle Henry. They had a huge place and the maintenance is quite a handful. We stopped at Yankee Candle and had a lovely lunch there before getting...Jump to full entry
