May 3, 2007 - Arriving on the Olympic Peninsula

We drove over the Cascade Mountains and although we saw a lot of snow it was a pleasant drive. The first campground we arrived at wasn't what we were looking for and we really were too big. I tried a fancy move and put the first damage on DD. I was backing up without Brian, thinking I'm good with the camera and I did see where I was going over a log but I couldn't see a small post that was vertical. It went under the bumper but not without cracking the fiberglass. It was extremely unfortunate and a cigarette would've helped the healing but...

Jun 19, 2006 - Hoodsport, Washington

We headed to Hoodsport, WA, located on the west side of the Hood canal. We stayed in a really nice park there. Cozy spot surrounded our RV in beautiful fir trees. Very, very peaceful. We came here so I could check it out. I wanted to see my friend's (Pam Gangee) new home on the water. It was a beautiful place. Strange though. This huge canal's water, probably at least a mile across, is controlled by the tide. When we came into the town, they had a minus 3 tide that day. It looked like the water had receded about 100 yards. Unbelievable!...

May 30, 2006 - Five Mountains

Before leaving Cascade Locks, we took Larch Mountain Road to view Five Mountains. After arriving at the parking lot, we realized we had to take a trail to the top. It was well worth the walk. We could see Mt. St. Helens, Mt Rainier, Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery. While standing there, I was reminded of Chet's favorite Psalms. Psalm 121 starts out, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth." After heading back toward...
