When clamming last weekend we saw a nice little spot to camp by the Willapa River in South Bend. So we headed south along the coast. This spot is in the town of South Bend, WA. The spot is a boat ramp that allows overnight camping for only $10. It is run in joint with DNR and the county. South Bend is the County Seat of Pacific County. The county set moved to South Bend from Oysterville in the late 1800s. The nearby town of Raymond wanted the county seat there. There was a fight for where to move the county seat again in the early 1900’s....
