Jun 28, 2018 - Woodinville, WA

The plan of the day was to go to the Pike Place Market and Chihuilly's Glass and Fran's Chocolates in downtown Seattle by the Pier. Well, we ended up stopping at Walmart in Bellevue first to get mosquito spray and snacks (granola bars) and a battery charger for my camera. (Looking back, so glad now that we got one!!! Otherwise, we would not have gotten the beautiful whale breaching photos!) Then, we left to go to the Pier. GPS unbelievable and parking was even worse. Found parking space .....(type this whole incident). Left downtown...

Aug 20, 2017 - On the road

And we're off. Heading out on bucket list number one. We drove from our house to Missoula Montana. Spent the night at Jim and Mary's RV park. Nice quiet campground except for the occasional train. Went into town and got fuel for us and the truck. Had dinner at Cracker Barrel, closest one to home.

Jun 17, 2012 - John Fogerty Concert

I headed south for a concert around noon after hearing that several hundred bicyclists were also crossing the border in the morning on their way to Seattle to raise money for cancer. (A good cause but a major hangup at the border.) Motorists avoided the Peace Arch Crossing where all the riders were and jammed the other 2 crossings. I thought that by noon it would all be cleared. Wrong! That's the longest I've ever had to line up with my Nexus pass - probably close to 40 minutes. And of course, it was raining. Anyway, the trip to the RV park...

Aug 5, 2010 - More Washington Wineries

8/5/10 Today we went winery hopping again. These wineries were in Woodinville, WA. Two large wineries are located here, Chateau St. Michele and Columbia Valley. We discovered that lots of wineries have set up storefront tasting rooms in this town. They said they did this because this is where the traffic is. Several were from the Walla Walla area. We also went to a favorite of Jim’s (a micro brewery) Red Hook. We sampled a flight of beers and some chips and guacamole and salsa. We drove back toward the motorhome and decided to go to another...

Aug 30, 2009 - Hiking Tonga Ridge Trail

Today we went on a hike on the Tonga Ridge trail. It was a mountain trail with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, some of which still had snow on them. The trail was lined with wild blueberry bushes bearing many ripe delicious blueberries. We all enjoyed eating our fill of blueberries as we hiked. We ate our picnic lunch in a very scenic meadow.

Aug 28, 2009 - It Begins

Up at 4 am. Vacation is finally here! We daparted home at 5:40 for the airport in light rain. Our 7:45 flight to Atlanta was delayed by over an hour, leaving us little chance of making our connection unless the Seattle flight was delayed too. Fortunately, it was delayed and we easily made the connection. After a long but uneventful flight, we arrived in Seattle and were met by our friends, Allen and Tammy Clark. On the way to their home, they took us by Rattlesnake Lake where we took a short hike. Next, we went to Snowqualmie Falls - an...
