The 4hr coach journey takes 7hrs, and I don't know why I'm surprised! Dalat is supposed to be the 'prettiest' place in Vietnam according to some of the locals, set in the hills with waterfalls, and apparently a lot of the Vietnamese take their honeymoons here. It's freezing here though, I've got trousers and both my fleeces on...and I here England's having a heat wave! Apr 3, 2006 - Cao Dai Temple, Cu Chi Tunnels, Vietnams streets

The pictures in this entry were all taken on a day off about a week ago. We had a day trip that took us to a Cao Dai temple, and to the Cu Chi Tunnels (Used during the Vietnam-America war for Viet Cong Soldiers to hide in) From the lonely planet website: "At first sight, HCMC may seem to be populated with a million bandana-bedecked female bandits on the verge of a giant traffic accident." Jan 11, 2006 - Vietnam - Cat Tien National Park

After the intensive bombing and copious amounts of chemicals dumped by the US on Vietnam it is amazing that they have any rainforest left here at all. Amazingly, at Cat Tien, the old growth trees survived and the smaller plants have recovered, & the wildlife has slowly made a comeback leading to it being added to UNESCO's list of biosphere reserves.
